7 Reasons Sea Level NC Is Now on Your Restaurant Short List

CHARLOTTEAN PAUL MANLEY has created an independently-owned seafood destination in uptown boasting the best oysters in town. The whole concept centers around curating fresh-caught seafood from the sea farming partners he has come to know over the past several years. The Sea Level NC space is open, but intimate—and has knowledgeable staff who can help customers navigate through oyster varietals, fresh catch seafood and the thoughtful wine list.

If you have plans to be in uptown for a game, show or concert, check out these 7 reasons why Sea Level NC should now be on your shortlist. If you don’t have plans, make plans.

1. 10-plus oysters on everyday.
The Sea Level team always has a wide selection of oysters on the menu—sourced from all over the country. Enjoy them at your table or at the oyster bar. Talk to your Sea Level server or bartender about the brine, origin and profile of each oyster to select your favorites.

2. The Lobster Roll.
A crowd favorite: the lobster roll. Sea Level mixes up a light mayo base, lemon, chives and dill and they plate the flavors on a split-top buttered roll, with a perfectly-crisped bun. It's the ideal canvas for the chilled, lobster flavor. It’s one of Sea Level’s best sellers, and great for lunch or dinner.

3. Leads out to 5th Street in uptown.
Sea Level NC is located right on Fifth Street in Uptown Charlotte, at the base of the Hearst Tower. A lot of visitors come to Uptown to see a show, enjoy nightlife, or they're in town for a concert or a game. With the Sea Level outdoor patio, the life of the city draws people in to enjoy the best seafood in town—and it’s locally-owned.

4. $1 Happy Hour Oysters.
The oyster selection changes daily, but Sea Level is proud to always have their Sea Level oysters in house for $1 for daily Happy Hours from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and late night 10 p.m.-midnight, Monday through Saturday.

5. Fresh catch menu that changes daily.
Sea Level NC centers it’s dishes around Carolina seafood: oysters and Carolina line-caught fish. Because the kitchen team brings in these very thoughtful, sustainably-sourced seafoods, from there, they source complementary ingredients and seasonings to accompany those local flavors—and they change these offerings each day.

6. Free parking.
Sea Level NC validates parking for two hours at lunch, and three hours at dinnertime. And to make it even easier, Sea Level accepts reservations, does call-ahead seating, carry out and walk in service. Find them on Yelp Seat Me to make an online reservation.

7. Saturday Brunch.
Favorites like the Caramel Apple French Toast, Crab Cake Benedict, Cast Iron Frittata and day-time cocktails make this a delicious, boozy brunch option! Brunch is available every Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
