07/30/12Get Fit and Get Tan!A lot of brides stress over losing a few pounds before the big day, so they undergo a strenuous workout schedule that does more harm than good, in my opinion. I say get out of that stuffy gym and get yourself down to the beach... Posted at 10:12 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

07/20/12Guest Book Idea: Wall Art
Good news brides! You can have a guest book that also serves as a beautiful piece of art for you and your beau's home. Of the many weddings I have frequented, two of my favorites were those that used a piece of wall art for their guest book. The first couple put a picture of themselves in the center of a white mat that guests could sign. To this day, they have that framed and hanging in their house, reminded daily of the many people that came to share that special day with them! The second couple had a friend paint a tree onto beautiful beige canvas. Then for the wedding, guests pressed their thumbs into different shades of green and put their thumbprint on the tree. They also signed their name in their thumbprint. When everyone was done, the tree was... Read more » Posted at 12:12 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |
07/18/12Is Your Reception Kid-Friendly?
It is inevitable that there will be children at your wedding reception, whether they get on your nerves or not. I love kids. They have such joy that I would be sad if there weren't any running around at my reception! So what can you do to make sure that the kiddos are enjoying the party as much as the adults? I've come up with a few ideas... Ice Cream Sundae Bar - Set up a self-serve ice cream station jam packed with different flavors and toppings. Guests can create their own sundae masterpiece. The kids will love it! Edible Favors - Send 'em home with something they can enjoy the day after the reception... possibly some Read more » Posted at 02:35 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

07/16/12Choosing Your Wedding Shoes
One of the most important decisions you will make for your wedding day is what shoes you will wear. For brides who wear long gowns, guests might not ever see your shoes. So does it matter what you wear on your feet? Of course it does! Do you want to be halfway through your vows and able to think of nothing but how your shoes are pinching your toes? Or how your ankles are killing you because you chose a 4 1/2 inch heel? Make a smart decision when choosing your shoes, based on what will be best for you as a bride instead of pretending to be Carrie Bradshaw and loving those sky-high Jimmy Choos. Here are some tips to help you with this decision: 1. Choose a style that you would be... Read more » Posted at 10:44 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |
07/13/12Tech Trend: E-vites and Online RSVP
As children of the Information Age, it is no surprise that wedding e-vites are becoming more and more popular among brides in their twenties and thirties. After all, who wants to take the time to go to the post office, mail 200 invitations, and wait a month or two to get the RSVP back in your mailbox? Glö is a tech-trendy website dedicated to bringing your wedding into the Information Age. With their beautiful invitation designs (that look like actual invitations), your guests will feel the same excitement opening the e-mail that they do getting a paper invitation via snail mail. Click to see some examples. Once your guests open the e-vite,... Read more » Posted at 01:52 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

07/12/12Fall Favors: Pumpkin Cake Pops
My idea of the perfect wedding favor isn't something I can wash my hands with or sit on my bookshelf and never look at again... I want something I can eat! (In addition to the wedding cake, of course) Cake pops are the perfect miniature dessert to send home with your guests or to tide them over until you cut and serve the actual cake.
While researching cake pop flavors, I stumbled over a Pumpkin Cake Pop recipe from YumSugar that would perfectly adorn your fall wedding reception. Anna Monette Roberts provides the cake and cream cheese recipes Posted at 01:11 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

07/04/12Guestbook Idea: A Wishing Tree
Every part of your wedding, big or small, should be unique and reflect your style. Guest books included. Rather than having a book full of signatures that you will never look at again, consider a wishing tree.
My DIY Wedding Day suggests using cherry, apple, or magnolia branches with orchids or carnations tied on. These manzanita branches from Save-On-Crafts.com might even bloom on their own. Put them in a pretty pot near the entrance to your ceremony and provide pen and paper nearby. I like these Posted at 10:37 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |
