Five fun ways to honor Mom
In the spirit of Mother's Day, we're offering up a few fun ways to show Mom just how much you love her on your big day.
Mother's Day is the perfect time to show Mom – or a special aunt, grandmother, or friend – just how much you love her, and what a difference she's made in your life.
But showing Mom a little extra love shouldn't be limited to just one day.
What better time to honor Mom than on your wedding day? After all, there's a pretty good chance she had something to do with getting you up to the altar (not to mention all the boys she watched you put up with until you found Mr. Right).
Check out these five fun ways to pay tribute to Mom on your Big Day.
Wear something of hers
Whether it's a piece of her treasured jewelry or the veil from her wedding day, Mom will be touched when you ask to incorporate one of her pieces into your wedding day look.
Play her favorite song
Does Mom have a song that's near and dear to her heart? Use it as your wedding song, or dance with Dad. Keep the decision a surprise for guaranteed water works.
Write her a note
Few things are as sweet as a hand-written note. Take some time to put your feelings to paper on some pretty stationery, and give it to Mom the morning of your wedding. She'll cherish it forever.
Give her something special
Treat Mom with a special gift before you say "I do." We love monogrammed jewelry with your wedding date, embroidered handkerchiefs, or a sentimental framed photo of the two of you.
Include a unity candle
Unity candles honor both your mom and your mother-in-law, and provide a sentimental touch to ceremonies. Have each mom light a separate candle coming in. Later in the ceremony, you and your groom will use those candles to light one in the middle.
