04/25/12KK Bloom's Earring Wall
It's funny how valuable a personal fashion crisis can be. OK, in the moment, it's not so fun (yep, I realize fashion crises are relative in the real world of problems), but they're incredible opportunities for the best fashion solutions. Tonight, as I was packing my bags for a wedding in Houston this weekend, I decided I didn't have earrings that would do my beloved new dress justice. Because I can't just stop my life to go shopping on a workday tomorrow, and I fly out in the evening, I had to think fast. It hit me, without question: KK Bloom's famous earring wall. I know that when I stop by this Selwyn boutique tomorrow, I won't find the perfect pair... Read more » Posted at 11:15 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

04/19/12Matouk Trunk Show at Bedside Manor
I'm guessing that, for most of us, making our beds even cozier and therefore even harder to leave could be seriously dangerous. But, since you're probably really never going to not want 5 more minutes of sweet sleep in the morning, hitting up the Matouk Trunk Show at Bedside Manor and adding new, silky threads to your bed is probably still a good idea. Now through April 21, you can enjoy 15 percent off of all John Matouk bedding, bath, and table linens. Rough translation: this300-thread count, Stella Quilted Coverlet in Blush could be the reason I miss any and all meetings on Monday... Read more » Posted at 11:51 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

04/18/12Splendid Shoes at The Pink Hanger
In the wake of a repeat of last year's boutique break-ins, it's more important than ever to support our local shops and show them some shopping love (not that you needed another reason to do so). But in case you need extra incentive, here it is: The Pink Hanger is now a proud carrier of Splendid shoes! It's a pretty appropriate brand name, considering the selection is a hearty spread of bold summer wedges and easy flats in peppy hues. I'll be saving up some dough for the red and navy nautical ("Klever") wedges in this accompanying photo. But, friends, if anyone wants to... Read more » Posted at 08:53 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

04/05/12Easter "Peeps" Show/Sale at The Pink Hanger
It's almost Easter weekend and Masters' weekend, which means it's completely acceptable (in my book) to break out mass quantities of plaid, pastels, and derby hats. If you're closet's sparing on the aforementioned, get yourself to The Pink Hanger tomorrow or Saturday for the shop's Easter "Peeps" Show/Sale.
For 10-50 percent off of springy Rachel Pally, Trina Turk, and everything else on the shelves, pick a peep and an egg from the sale basket, discover your personal deal, and start 2935 Providence Rd, Ste. 103; 704-366-7272 Read more »Posted at 11:55 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

04/03/12Joe's Jeans Printed Denim Coming Soon at Fresh
Did you miss the boat on colored denim? Get on it; it's sailing well through the summer. Now, stay with us: we're keeping the color, but adding some print. Still game? It's a little daring, but paired with played down neutrals and mellow accessories that don't do too much competing, we can't resist. Printed denim--in skinnies and minis--by Joe's Jeans is coming soon to Fresh. We love the oh-so-springy and feminine designs we're finding in the sneak peek (Fresh's Facebook sneak peek, that is). Think: poppies in full bloom, soft, watercolor florals, tribal, and leopard prints on vibrant palettes of peach,... Read more » Posted at 11:59 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

04/02/12Marysia Swim and Tkees Sandals at Coral
Whether or not you're enjoying the luxury of naturally-awarded or self-awarded spring breaks, you're probably finding it hard to push beachside daydreams out of mind, or you're actually living out said daydreams (in which case, I'm jealous). Either way--in fantasy or reality--you need the right gear. We're loving Coral's take on the two quintessential warm weather accessories: bathing suits and sandals. With Marysia Swim new to the shelves, you'll want to suit up--whether or not you've reached your six pack abs goal. We love this stylish line, which has graced the pages of Vogue, Elle, Shape, Lucky, and... Read more » Posted at 11:15 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

Victoria Robinette reclaimed her Charlotte roots three years ago, when she returned from journalism school in Chapel Hill. She’s filled her post-college days hot on the Queen City fashion scene, writing and styling for Charlotte Wedding, Home+Garden, Where Charlotte and Charlotte magazine. Now, she’s taken the reins as style editor of Charlotte. She loves sky high wedges and cozy riding boots, pampering her two Yorkies, finishing sentences with “Seinfeld” lines, and putting everything on hold for Tar Heel basketball.
