Rainy days can really get a stylish girl down. First, you’ve got the whole messy hair thing because it doesn’t matter how well you dry and style it in the morning, the second you’re outside, it looks like it’s never even seen a brush. Then there’s the problem of the pants dragging through puddles or the cute shoes getting splashed on. Fashion seems like a foreign word on days like today.

There is a lot of strange marketing that goes into fragrances. I once received an email about a men's fragrance that compared it to a lion marking his territory in the jungle. I would like to meet the person who came up with that analogy and explain that cologne should never be compared to animals marking their territory, no matter how masculine you're trying to make it sound.
However,...

Lately I have started to occasionally ride my bicycle. I'm not going to make any big claims of extremely long or hard rides, but Charlotte is gorgeous in the fall and it's the perfect time of year to cruise the city's tree-lined streets on cool evenings.
In checking out bike gear I came across this little gadget. At first I was...

I have a lot of hair. In fact, many days I worry that my hair walks a fine line between "stylishly long" and "practically hippie." Having so much hair makes it pretty important that I take care of it. And, truth be told, I probably abuse it 90% of the time, I do have one splurge product that I cannot survive without: Kerastase Bain Satin.

It's hard not to like candles. After all, they're cozy, smell yummy, and always cast you in your best light. And this time of year, on cool evenings and even cooler mornings, it's nice to add a warm fragrance to your home—a warm fragrance like, say, Crabtree & Evelyn's new India Hicks Island Night candle ($42).
Now, I've...

I consider myself to be somewhat of a clean freak. I will whip out the vacuum at a moment’s notice and I’ve even been known to spray down the kitchen countertop with 409 while there is still food being prepared on top of it. There is just one thing I hate doing: mopping. The bucket. The water. The soap. The drying time. Trying to keep my cats off the floor during the drying time. On top of all that hassle, I’ve got...

I love business cards. There's something very vintage about the idea of handing someone a piece of paper with your information on it in this technologically friendly society. And I really love unusual business cards. (This love does not encompass those cards given to me that are too large to fit into my equally old fashioned Rolodex. Those are just annoying.)
But I do enjoy seeing unique cards. In college, a friend of...

It's time for another round of Confessions From My Youth (this one has nothing to do with my ears): Back in middle school, I used to LIVE for the first day of August, when our official school calendar would come out and I could rush to the Wal-Mart to buy a brand new planner and a shiny new set of Uniball colored ink...

Ordinarily you'd never find me bowing down to worship designer cosmetics - I am much more of an "Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl" kind of gal- but I am a firm believer that if something works like magic, it's worth shelling out for. And this mascara is so magical it actually comes with it's own wand! (Pun intended! Ba dum dum!) Two quick swipes from this sleek silver tube and you're lashes will be lovely, lush and down...
