Get Stacy Kiebler's Look at Luna

Whatever your opinion is of Stacy Kiebler, she dates George Clooney, and that's one thing I think most of would have to admit she's doing right. She was recently spotted with said adonis, wearing a green ikat jumper. So, I pose this question to you, readers: does the jumper put her in the right or the wrong? Personally, I like the jumper look, but I realize it's not for everyone. This is one trend that calls on the timeless rule: don't adopt the style unless it's right for you; if a jumper doesn't flatter you, pass on it.

Diamonds at Laura James Jewelry

Just when we thought Laura James (and her jewelry) did it all, we discovered that, as of this week, she does it all, plus diamonds. But, leave it to James to keep things fresh in terms of the aesthetic. We love the fusion of classic stones and modern shapes. Right now, the East Boulevard boutique's girl's-best friend-haul includes 14K gold pave studs, diamond pendants, and initial necklaces, like these photographed.

Laura James Mother's Day Sale

I learned a really big lesson a few years ago about showing my mom (who sacraficed her stick-skinny shape to bring myself and my twin into this world) true arppreciation on Mother's Day. (There is a point, so stay with me through this little trip down memory lane) It was Mother's Day, 2008, and also my graduation day from UNC. My twin, Beth, had graduated the day before from NC State. Roughly translated, for my mom, the weekend meant: driving from Charlotte to Raleigh and Chapel Hill (and repeatedly back and forth between the two) treating us graduates to a fancy and expensive meal, stroking our egos to the point of no return, showering us with gifts, snapping our pictures, and most importantly, sitting through two really long and really boring commencement...

KK Bloom's Earring Wall

It's funny how valuable a personal fashion crisis can be. OK, in the moment, it's not so fun (yep, I realize fashion crises are relative in the real world of problems), but they're incredible opportunities for the best fashion solutions. Tonight, as I was packing my bags for a wedding in Houston this weekend, I decided I didn't have earrings that would do my beloved new dress justice. Because I can't just stop my life to go shopping on a workday tomorrow, and I fly out in the evening, I had to think fast. It hit me, without question: KK Bloom's famous earring wall. Splendid Shoes at The Pink Hanger

In the wake of a repeat of last year's boutique break-ins, it's more important than ever to support our local shops and show them some shopping love (not that you needed another reason to do so). But in case you need extra incentive, here it is: The Pink Hanger is now a proud carrier of Splendid shoes! It's a pretty appropriate brand name, considering the selection is a hearty spread of bold summer wedges and easy flats in peppy hues.
