11/30/11Ledbury+Mr. Poole Shop/Holiday Pop-up Shop
Perry Poole and Laura Vinroot Poole, the couple responsible for Charlotte's high fashion spots Capitol and Poole Shop, are bringing another style bite to the city--this time, for the holidays. A week-long holiday pop-up shop, Ledbury+Mr. Poole Shop, opens today (through December 4) and kicks off with a launch party at the old Asana space at 3920 Sharon Rd tonight, from 7-10 p.m.. 11/16/11Decade 3-day Designer Showcase
Starting tomorrow, November 17 through Saturday, November 19, Decade will be giving shoppers (who undoubtedly posess a distinctive eye for style) an exclusive look at designer offerings. The catch is that these specially selected items will only be available during this 3-day window. Hours will be extended Thursday until 6 p.m. to accomodate wine and hors d'oeuvres hours starting at 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday will operate under regular store hours (10 a.m.-5 p.m. and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., respectively). I'm not one of those people who likes to toss out her Halloween pumpkin and then put up the Christmas tree. In fact, I can't even get excited about Christmas until I'm cozied up on the couch, entering my post-Thanksgiving turkey coma. But HandPicked makes it just too hard not to get in the holiday spirit. Each week, I drive by the cute little shop on the corner of East Boulevard and Kenilworth Avenue, where it's proudly announced in neon shoe polish that Christmas is a certain number of weeks away (they start at 12 weeks).
