Last Minute Holiday Shopping: Part I

Last Minute Holiday Shopping: Part I

We are down to the wire, people. Thankfully, our local shops know it, and they're doing their best to help us when it comes to getting those last few things before Christmas morning (or before the next candle on the Menorah is lit). Today it was Lavendar Boutique's denim and shoes sale, and tomorrow it's Luna's last minute 2-day sale. They're offering an extra 30 percent off of all sale items, which already includes designer jeans for $75 and under. I was in the shop yesterday, and I assure you, there's plenty of good stuff left on the shelves--jewelry, jeans, dresses, sweaters, scarves, and handbags.

In case there are any men out there who follow... Read more »

Holiday Denim and Shoes Sale at Lavendar Boutique

THREE Shopping days left until Christmas. If the panic is setting in, you've been offered a reprieve. Lavendar Boutique, which we've long lauded for its hearty selection of designer denim and frequent sales, is saving the day, once again.

Today, you can snag any pair of jeans from the denim cube for 30 percent off and pick up any pair of Sam Edelman shoes for 40 percent off. Don't worry, your holiday whirlwind delerium hasn't finally gotten the best of you; this isn't too good to be true! Wrap up a pair of skinny jeans for your sister, wow your mom with shoes she'd never expect, and find yourself something to add to your own stocking.

Via Veneto Sale to Benefit the Council for Children's Rights

More holiday shopping for a good cause? Got to love this city.

Tomorrow, when your brain's finally registered that there are exactly 10 shopping days left until Christmas and 5 until Hanukkah, be sure to stop in Via Veneto at Phillips Place. From 10 a.m.-7 p.m., enjoy 20 percent off of everything in the store--even sale stuff. The best part is that Via Veneto will gift the Council for Children's Rights 10 percent of every purchase. Personally, I can't think of any better shopping incentive than that.

What's on this girl's Via Veneto wish list? A pair of shiny Kate Spade pumps. Feel free to mail a size 8 to our... Read more »

Bumble and Bumble's New Concen-Straight Pro Smoothing Treatment at Hudson E. Hudson Salon

Semi-daily, we talk about fashion, sales, events, and more fashion—anything to keep you as stylish as possible around this town. But lately, I seem to have forgotten the concept of head-to-toe fashion, leaving out one very important element that finds a place in our every ensemble: hair. I do have an excuse—when it comes to hair, I’m inept at anything but wielding a flat iron until my strands are smoking. I’ve sported my same long, straight high school ‘do since, well, high school (barring one “very adventurous” long bob my freshman year of college).

But recently, my perspective changed. I happened upon Huntersville’s newest salon, Hudson E. Hudson (Read more »
