03/02/10Love It: SafetyTat Kid Tattoos
I'm not a mom, but I am one of the most paranoid, doomsday, "worst case scenario" worriers you've ever met. (My poor eventual children don't stand a chance against my warped way of thinking. ) However, even non crazy-worrying moms can get behind this positively clever invention: SafetyTat - temporary tattoos bearing In Case of Emergency contact info you put on your kid when you are going to be in environments where they could get lost. A fab mom friend of mine is about to take her wee ones to Disney World in a few weeks - I can think of no better place to tag your kid for a safe return. My little brother once went up into a Fivel Goes West themed climbing playland, got freaked out by the height of the nets and... Read more » Posted at 11:15 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

02/26/10The Weekend Ahead: Feb 26-28
Well my dears, this weekend is shaping up to look pretty spectacular (and not just because it includes my birthday on Sunday). There is a ton of fabulous events going on, so don't waste a second of it!
COVET THIS: Christian Louboutin Trunk Show There's no denying it - Louboutin has replaced Manolo as the status shoe of all our dreams. That red sole haunts me like you wouldn't believe. Try on a few from his spring 2010 during this trunk show that goes through Saturday Feb 27 in the Shoe Salon at Neiman Marcus at SouthPark! LOVELY LILLY: Lilly Pulitzer Lilly Loves Green Event We all know how Lilly loves her bold prints. This year those prints have gone wild. Well, endangered actually. The collections for spring 2010 are inspired by... Read more » Posted at 08:51 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

02/25/10Love It? SJP NYC Perfume
In case you missed it, Sarah Jessica Parker has released her third fragrance, this one is called SJP NYC and according to SJP herself, the packaging and the scent are directly inspired by her time spent in the expensive stiletto shoes of Carrie Bradshaw. I assume that she means it evokes some of the wilder, more colorful fashion moments in Carrie's life like this and this and this and Posted at 12:45 PM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

02/22/10Think Pink! Makeover Event to Benefit Carolina Breast Friends
I personally don't need an excuse to get a cosmetic counter makeover, but it's certainly less awkward for all parties involved if you do have a reason for marching up to the Chanel counter and declaring "Make me pretty, please!" In this case, we've got a great reason for you. On Tuesday, February 23 the Neiman Marcus' Cosmetics department (Level One) is hosting a party to benefit Carolina Breast Friends. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. you can enjoy cocktails and makeovers from all your favorite beauty lines. All they ask in return is a $20 donation to this local cancer support charity so that they can continue to make women feel beautiful no matter what! 02/19/10The Weekend Ahead: February 19-21
GET WHAT'S LEFT - STEP By Sloan Dot Sale & The Pink Hanger Clearance Sale Shoe lovin' ladies in Charlotte wait for months for this dot sale to come around, and it finally did this week. Step on over to STEP this weekend to get in on what's left of the amazing sale shoe selection. The sale ends when it ends - so don't be left out. Take it from us, last year Sarah coveted a pair of shoes during the Dot Sale and convinced herself she'd go back for them. She didn't, and she probably laments that decision aloud at least once a week (more often right now, during the sale itself). Don't make Sarah's mistake. Also, the Pink Hanger sale we blogged about last week is still going on, so get in while the getting is still good. While you're in there shopping... 02/12/10What's Happening: Valentine's Day at Daniel Stowe
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, what could be better than a free flower for you? Forget splurging on a whole bouquet! Bring your beloved to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC on Feb. 13 or 14. The first 250 people who come through the door will be given a free flower. Then you can take a romantic stroll through the gardens, steal a smooch in the orchid conservatory, and celebrate Valentine's Day with a whole world of blooming beauties, rather than just with a dozen of them.

02/10/10What's Happening: Another Reason to Feel Good at Urbana CitySpa & Teabar
There isn't a single gift on earth I like to get more than a massage gift card. It's like the promise of heaven in a tiny envelope. I will be using exactly such a gift card later this month when I treat myself (on behalf of Santa) to a massage at Urbana CitySpa to celebrate my birthday. The overall glow you get after a 60-minute massage is glorious enough on its own, but it's about to get even better: During the month of February, Urbana is donating a portion of all gift card sales to Partners in Health, a non profit organization that is sending doctors and nurses to Haiti. So buy someone you love (or yourself) a much-deserved de-stressing massage and send much needed relief to a... Read more » Posted at 11:13 AM | Permalink | Comments: 0 |

Victoria Robinette reclaimed her Charlotte roots three years ago, when she returned from journalism school in Chapel Hill. She’s filled her post-college days hot on the Queen City fashion scene, writing and styling for Charlotte Wedding, Home+Garden, Where Charlotte and Charlotte magazine. Now, she’s taken the reins as style editor of Charlotte. She loves sky high wedges and cozy riding boots, pampering her two Yorkies, finishing sentences with “Seinfeld” lines, and putting everything on hold for Tar Heel basketball.
