SAG Awards Fashion

I wish “Say[ing] it ain’t so” were a possibility, but there were too many offenses on the Red Carpet of Sunday night’s SAG Awards. Some sage (albeit harsh) advice for future nominees: if you want to be a winner, don’t dress like a loser. I’ll dedicate some of this post to Red Carpet successes, but unfortunately, I have to address the offenders, first.

Worst Dressed:

Shaliene Woodley: even with little makeup and a teenage look, she was gorgeous in “the Descendants”. So, why did she raid the Golden Girls’ ex-wardrobe closet for one of her first awards shows? This is a Blanche Devereaux dress for the books—actually, I think... Read more »

Spring Fashion Preview

I hate to brag, but if this sneak peek from our Spring Fashion 2012 shoot (which you can find in our March issue) doesn't get you excited for warmer weather--and make you want to run out and grab a copy--I don't know what will.

Check out that March issue, hitting shelves in mid-February, to see the full glamor on the high glosses and to hear about trends and our amazing local venue (sunny Oakdale Greenhouses). ChezElle Red Dot Sale

I'm seeing spots. And maybe it's because I spent about an hour in ChezElle, eyeing tag, after tag, coated in red dots. This, folks, is the ChezElle Red Dot Sale, and I don't mind telling you that you're an absolute fool if you don't sneak in for a peek. Quick tip: it ends tomorrow night.

Score Maria Menounos's Style at the Pink Hanger

What kind of fashion confidant would I be if I kept things from you, like the fact that you can completely copy Maria Menounos's style (like, buy exactly what she's wearing) shopping right here in Charlotte? Jason Wu for Target Lookbook Unveiled

Target really doesn't have to do anything more to get my seal of approval in basically all categories. But I have to say, I was a bit miffed at the entire brand when Missoni's special for-Target line hit stores last fall and sold out rapidly, causing the store's online site to crash and me to cry. But Target's redeeming itself, my friends, and I am no longer mad. Jason Wu's new collaboration line for Target is gasp-garnering, and I am DETERMINED to, this time, be one of the lucky shoppers who snags designer steals. I pity the fool who stands in my way.

Resort Wear 2012

Although we've had an unusually mild winter so far, I presume most of us still dream of getting away from what little chill there is in the air (hey, it tapped 19 degrees one morning last week) and/or work in the form of a tropical vacay. I suppose the fact that I just returned from the Bahamas yesterday echoes this sentiment, but apparently some of my favorite Charlotte boutiques are with me ... because... they've already rolled out their Resort Wear for 2012. While I'm not ready to start talking about spring fashion just yet, I have to say, I'm loving the vibrant colors, shiny fabrics, and easy-going feel of the pieces we're seeing in these collections.
