The city's food trucks are hitting South End this Thursday (October 27) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. You'll find the trucks in the parking lot of Atherton Mill, just outside of Icehouse (2000 South Blvd.) Roots Farm Food, Roaming Fork, Herban Legend, Maki Taco, Clover Joes, Tasty-Yo, and Cupcake Delirium are all confirmed to attend. 10/14/11Bites and a Bit of Moonshine at Halcyon
Next Thursday (October 20) uptown's Halcyon is hosting their Bites and a Bit of Moonshine event on their patio overlooking the Levine Center for the Arts and The Green. The event begins and 6 p.m. and goes to close. Guests can enjoy three different moonshine cocktails from mixologist Maggie Pierce paired with small plates and live bluegrass music from Jim Garrett and the Popcorn Sippers. 10/06/11Think Pink Happy Hours at BlackFinn
BlackFinn in the EpiCentre will be holding happy hours for three Fridays (October 7, 14, and 21) from 7 to 9 p.m. in which 100% of the proceeds raised will go to the night's featured charity benefitting breast cancer awareness (Making Strides for Breast Cancer, Carolina Breast Friends, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, respectively). For those who contribute the evenings will include complimentary passed hors d'oeuvres and the chance to buy BlackFinn Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts and bracelets. 10/04/11Oyster Roast at Growlers Pour House
If you missed Growlers Pour House's popular Oyster Roast event last January, now is your chance to get in on the fun. The always-bustling NoDa pub is holding a roast in its back parking lot from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th. The event will feature live music from local bands, plenty of craft beers, and food including brats, fries, clam chowder, and, of course, oysters. Cost is $15 at the door and $10 in advance and the event, which is in memory of the restaurant's former bartender, Drew Hawkins, will benefit JDRF.
