Shelton Vineyards Wine Dinner at BLT Steak

BLT Steak's Chef Ben Miles has created a four-course dinner to pair with wines from North Carolina's Shelton Vineyards. The dinner, which is on Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. at BLT Steak, will be hosted by Mandy Shelton Houser and Michael Egues of Shelton Vineyards, who will discuss the wines throughout the evening.

The cost is $75 per person and reservations are required. Call 704.972.4380 to reserve your space.

This Wednesday night, Vin Master Wine at Atherton Mill is saying farewell to summer with an oyster and wine tasting featuring six different oysters (both raw and cooked, from seafoods.com) paired with wines (both dry and sweet).

Time Warner Cable BBQ and Blues

This weekend is the 9th annual Time Warner Cable BBQ and Blues Festival—which means that if you haven't taken the opportunity to walk the streets of uptown enjoying some of the region's best barbecue yet, then it is definitely time. Bring  family and friends this weekend, September 9th and 10th, to enjoy music and an array of foods including BBQ, funnel cakes, and even shrimp.

This is the largest festival sanctioned by the Memphis BBQ Network in the Southeast with more than 100 teams expected to pile into town this weekend for the $25,000 prize and the chance to represent MBN in 2012.

Bar Cocoa Opening at The Ritz-Carlton

Charlotte's uptown Ritz-Carlton has announced that on September 30th it will be opening Bar Cocoa, a decadent restaurant featuring all things chocolate. At the new spot, an extension of The Lobby Lounge, hotel guests and the public can enjoy offerings like Chocolate Afternoon Tea ($32 for adults), a weekly 5-course Chocolate and Champagne Dinner ($125 per person), culinary classes centered around chocolate ($75 per person), and pastries and confections such as white chocolate and orange scones.
