Charlotte Gay Film Festival
Since 2009, this cinematic event showcases the best in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender film to the Queen City. This year features a special documentary about Blake Brockington, the transgender male who was historically crowned Homecoming King at East Mecklenburg High. The film fest runs all weekend. Alive After Five
The bands Groovetown and Who Rescued Who are jamming out this week on the EpiCentre’s roof. This is Charlotte’s biggest free-admission happy hour, and every Thursday has your name on it. The Epicentre is at 210 E. Trade St. For more information, visit aliveafterfives.com.

Halfway-to-Halloween Costume Party
What better way to celebrate…April…than with a costume party? Coronas are $3 tonight, and the best costume will snag you a $30 gift certificate. The Halloween-in-April party begins at 9:30 p.m. at On The Roxx, 1 Norman Blvd., in Cornelius.
A Night of French Cuisine and Music
Come take a trip to the Louvre, sample champagne from, well, Champagne or say, "Bonjour!" to a baguette or two tonight with Blue Restaurant and Bar’s trip to Paris. For $45, you’ll get a full French menu and an evening with charming French music. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner following at 7 p.m. Your trip to France starts at 206 N. At Midnight Fashion Extravaganza
Come dressed to the nines for this fashion-forward party. Hosted by WE TV’s Love Thy Sister star Londyn Smith de Richelieu, this fashion show also features live music and an auction. Following the show, Power 98’s No-Limit Larry will host the after party. The complimentary cocktails begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7 p.m., the fashion show begins at 8 p.m. and the after party follows at 9 p.m. The show is at the Oasis Shriners’ headquarters, 604 Doug Mayes Place. Wet and Wild Foam Party
Expect to get wet at this party. Doors open at 9 p.m. with DJ Boss Austin spinning tracks all evening. The suds starts foaming at 300 N. College St. Tickets are $5, and you can buy them here.
The Price is Right
Come on down and watch the longstanding game show that introduced Plinko and the Showcase Showdown. The game show is at Ovens Auditorium, 2700 E. Independent Blvd., tonight beginning at 7:30. Ticket prices vary. Buy them here.
April Sours Bring May Flowers
Putting a little spin on all this rain we’ve been getting, Duckworth’s is serving up an array of bitter beers and sour sips for you to taste. This is for all you Sour Patch Kids out there. Under The Big Top Gala
Hoping to be the “greatest show in town,” this gala isn’t your regular evening out. Come and be dazzled by stilt walkers, mimes and aerial dancers. The gala also features an open bar, auctions, dancing and dinner. But with mimes, who could ask for anything more? The gala benefits Care Ring, a community health organization. Tickets are $200, and attire is black-tie optional. But at an event like this, vintage circus get-up is encouraged. The show begins at the Hilton Charlotte Center City, 222 E. Patios! Patios! Patios!
Help ring in spring with what the South does best: good ole’ fashioned porch sittin’. This is a patio bar crawl through Montford, and you’ll get your Patio Passport stamped at every stop along the crawl. Two winners who have gotten their passports stamped will win a hotel stay at one of 50 locations across the nation. A ticket to the patio party is $5 and includes bar crawl admission, a pair of sunglasses and other items in a swag bag. While this brew off may pit the Fuzzy Pumpkin and Peach Craft brews against one another, it’s so much more than that. Live music, food trucks and both beer pong and corn hole tournaments will also be available tonight. The event begins at 2 p.m. at D9 Brewing, 11138-C Treynorth Drive. Bonus: D9 Brewing just took the top prize at Charlotte's Battle of the Brews last weekend, so you know you'll be in for a good time. Admission is free.
The Deltas of Charlotte present their annual bachelor auction where bidders can bid (for charity, of course) on dates with eligible men aging from 25 to 65. Bidding starts at the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square, 345 N. College St. at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35, but they don’t include the man of your dreams. Buy your ticket here.

Spring Beak Party
Join Birdsong Brewing Co. for its annual Spring Beak (get it?) Party starting at noon today. Each year the brewery releases its “Up On The Sun” variety at this party, so get into the full swing of spring with this brewery. Live music and food trucks will also be on hand.
