12 for 2012: Best New Year’s Eve Parties in Charlotte

I received info on more than thirty New Year’s Eve parties taking place in Charlotte. Because not all events are created equal and since I’m sure you appreciate recommendations, I present to you my picks for the top twelve NYE parties (listed in alphabetical order by venue). I took into consideration the appeal of the location, the reputation of the promoter/organizer, the entertainment, and whether or not it would be an all-around good time. There's something for everyone on this list.

Osso Opens Thursday

Osso Restaurant and Lounge, which I gave you a little insight into last month, is opening this Thursday at NC Music Factory. You can count on this place becoming a hotspot immediately.

The plush, new venue is promoting its Christmas Eve event, which is this Saturday, with a full dinner menu 5-9 p.m., and DJ Kevin Focus playing 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. That’s what you can expect from Osso—an attractive place for an Italian dinner in the evening (under the guidance of renowned Chef Gene Briggs) and a lively destination to party into the late night (dinner tables will be cleared... Charlotte 49ers vs. North Carolina Tar Heels College Cup Championship Viewing Parties

You might have seen the news this weekend—it’s an all-North-Carolina Men’s College Cup National Soccer Championship set to go down Sunday, after the Charlotte 49ers (UNC Charlotte) and the North Carolina Tar Heels (UNC Chapel Hill) won their semifinal games Friday night. The McDevitt Agency, Charlotte’s hip real estate firm, puts on this “cosmopolitan experience” about once every other month at a different chic restaurant, bar, or lounge. For this Tuesday’s event, McDevitt has partnered again with Revolution boutique to present a fashionable evening. There will be models in attendance showcasing the latest fashions, a DJ playing your favorite tunes, and photographers on hand so come camera-ready.
