An Idol Comes Home

An Idol Comes Home

Courtesy Time Warner Cable Arena

Some of us stopped watching American Idol after the caustic, but generally on target, Simon Cowell, left. And, Paula Abdul's being replaced by J. Lo is a perfect example of the old adage, "Things can always get worse."

But -- love 'em or hate 'em -- the judges aren't part of American Idol Live!  The 11 finalists are. And, while those of us who stopped watching the show (Who needs AI when we now have The Voice?) wouldn't know a thing about the newest idol, Scotty McCreery, he is, apparently, from Garner, North Carolina and can seriously belt out a tune. My mother and many others are rabid fans. Thursday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena.www.timewarnercablearena.com/page.aspx
