Three Spirits Brewery Closing this Weekend

Three Spirits Brewery, which has been opened on Old Pineville Road since 2015, will close this weekend. The brewery's Twitter account confirmed the news this week, and last month, Charlotte Business Journal confirmed that the spot was up for sale. (We wrote a 2015 feature about the business here.)

The business, named for owner Tabu Terrell's love of A Christmas Carol, has garnered several awards for its beers since opening. Its Red Moon Rising won the gold in the 2017 NC Brewers Cup and 2018 Beer Army Beer Wars, while also nabbing silver in the 2016 US Open (as did Three Spirits’ Honey Porter and Agate Have It!). The brewery has specialized it what it calls “comfort beers,” cited as easy to drink and smooth.

Charlotte magazine’s requests for comments on the potential sale and closure over the past months have not been answered.
