Levine Museum of the New South

Jan 1, 2011 to Jan 31, 2011

This event occurs daily, every 1 day(s).

The museum’s permanent exhibit, Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers, leads visitors chronologically through Charlotte history, from a churning textile mill to testimonials from the civil-rights era sit-ins to the beginning of the banking boom. To celebrate the museum’s twentieth anniversary, Levine is also bringing back Courage (through February 2011), a traveling exhibit that debuted in 2004 that recounts the lawsuits filed by families in Clarendon County, S.C. These were the first of five such suits that led to the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision. Mon-Sat, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

$5-$6. Free on Sundays.
