TreesCharlotte is bringing it’s City-wide TreeStore to Steele Creek. Are you a resident of Charlotte? Do you need some trees for your yard? Each Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees. Proof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license, utility bill, etc.) as well as a valid email address must be provided in order to participate. One of the missions of TreesCharlotte is to help the City of Charlotte and City Council reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050. We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents.
At the TreeStore, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s). Tree training is mandatory. You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form with your home and email address (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.
We cannot guarantee species type or quantities. Trees are in 7-gallon containers, range from 6-10′ tall, and will not be reserved or transported.
This is a first come, first served event as quantities are limited.
TreeMasters are needed to help move and distribute trees and mulch to participants.
Sign-ups for this event are limited to TreeMasters. To learn more about the TreeMaster program, please visit http://treescharlotte.org/volunteer/treemaster/. If you are a resident and want to sign up for trees, please click the "Get Trees" button at the top of the page. TreeMasters, please log in to complete the registration.
