NBA All-Star Game Weekend Parties in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE PLAYS host to the National Basketball Association royalty this month as the annual All-Star Game comes to town. Aside from those famous faces, celebrities of all kinds, including Gucci Mane, are scheduled to appear in town. Who knows who else you’ll see at this expansive list of parties the Queen City is throwing?

  

Thursday (Feb. 14)

NBA All Star Party Hosted by Nipsey Hussle
Uptown, 9 p.m., $81
Nipsey Hussle will perform at Kandy Bar, 210 E. Trade St., tonight, and DJ Deron Juan and DJ Trap will also be on location. The event mentions “guest celebrities and NBA players” but doesn’t go into any more detail. Your ticket only buys you entry to the bar.

Welcome to Charlotte Party
South End, 9 p.m., $55
Floyd Mayweather hosts this combined party at Slate Billiards, Oak Room, All American Pub and Hot Taco, 200 E. Bland St. Event promoters promise “the lineup of celebrities and guest DJs will be released soon!” 


Friday (Feb. 15)

The MTN DEW ICE Rising Stars
Uptown, 9 p.m., Prices vary
This game happens at Spectrum Center, 333 E. Trade St., tonight, and it pairs the NBA’s best rookies and sophomore against each other. Tickets start at $30 before fees and run all the way to $450 before fees. 

Welcome to the City
Music Factory, 8 p.m., $55
Kid Capri and Peter Thomas take center stage at this party at ClubONE, 950 North Carolina Music Factory Blvd. Tickets cost $55 and only include entry. 

All-Star Bar Crawl
Uptown, 12 p.m., $23
This isn’t so much a bar crawl as an event that three nearby venues decided to call a bar crawl. World of Beer, Empire and Wild Wing Café, all at 210 E. Trade St., hosts this party featuring four DJs.

NBA All Star Celebrity Basketball Game After Party
Music Factory, 10 p.m., $28
Cheers to this party actually announcing its celebrity guests! Confirmed NBA stars include Damarre Carroll and Gary Clark. The event is at La Revolucion, 900 NC Music Factory Blvd. 

The Answer Day Party
South End, 1 p.m., $38
Allen Iverson “and friends” host this day party at Oak Room and Slate Billiards, 200 E. Bland St. DJ SnS and DJ Infamous provide the music. 

DJ ENVY Friday Night All-Star Weekend Party
Uptown, 9 p.m., $65
DJ Envy spins the music tonight at Fitzgerald’s, 201 E. Fifth St. The party goes until 2 a.m., but your ticket only buys you entry. 


Saturday (Feb. 16)

The Crossover
Uptown, 9 p.m., Prices vary
The Crossover party at Founders Hall, 100 N. Tryon St., brings Rick Ross and Michael Blackson to town. Tickets start at $150 and only grant you access. Tickets go all the way to $25,000, though, so we suppose that’s a deal.

Saturday Night All Star Weekend
Uptown, 10 p.m., $65
Kandy Bar, 210 E. Trade St., throws this All-Star Bash with DJ Mark Da Spot and a “TBA special guest host.” Tickets cost $60 and only buy you entry. 

All-Star Signature Saturday
Uptown, 10 p.m., $38
Terrance J hosts this party at Vapiano, 201 S. Tryon St., along with music from DJ Skills and DJ Tayrock. Tickets cost $38 and only include entry. 

The All-Star Trifecta
Uptown, 12 p.m., $33
Three “legendary” DJs take over Vapiano, 201 E. S. Tryon St., for a day party today as well. Biz Markie, DJ Lonnie B and DJ SNS will all be at the Italian restaurant today until 8 p.m. Tickets only buy entry. 

All-Star Weekend
Uptown, 8 p.m., $108
The event descriptions for this quartet of parties (one day party and one night party for both days of the weekend), so be sure you know what you’re getting yourself into before throwing down $108 just for entry fee. The only description for these parties at Flight, 314 N. College St.: “Artist to be announced.”

All Star ReDefine Black Tie Saturday Night
Uptown, 9:30 p.m., $27
“Dress competitively” for this black-tie gala at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, 551 S. Tryon St.

NBA All-Star Saturday Day Party
Uptown, 1 p.m., $55
Loft & Cellar, 305 W. Fourth St., host this day party featuring four DJs on two floors. While the restaurant doesn’t give any more specifics, it promises, “special celebrity guest and NBA players will be in the building.” 

Hoop Dreamz All Star Saturday Night Afterparty
South End, 9:30 p.m., $39
Two DJs and a live music act take to Apostrophe Lounge, 1440 S. Tryon St., tonight for this party “for the elite and sophisticated.”

The Ultimate All-Star Saturday Day Party
Uptown, 1 p.m., $65
DJ Red Alert and Kid Capri will be perform on the lower level of The Roxbury, 116 W. Fifth St., and the “house DJ” will perform on the upper level. Your ticket only buys you entry. 

The Ladidadi All-Star Day Party
South End, 12 p.m., $44
Featuring three DJs, one band and four bars (Slate Billiards, Hot Taco, All American Pub and Oak Room), this event also promises a “host of artists” to perform. The party is at 200 E. Bland St., and your ticket only buys you entry.


 Sunday (Feb. 17)

All-Star Sneaker Summit
Uptown, 1 p.m., $24
It wouldn’t be an NBA All-Star Weekend without a heavy focus on basketball shoes, right? The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, 551 S. Tryon St., hosts this shoe exhibition. The seventh-annual shoe show brings together hundreds of buyers and sellers of sneakers along with “special guests,” contests and more.

Gucci Mane and Jacquees
Uptown, 9 p.m., $76
As the name suggests, Gucci Mane and Jacquees will be at Ink N Ivy, 222 S. Church St., tonight following the All-Star Game. Event organizers bill this party as the Trap Gala, and, as of press time, tickets are still available. 

DJ SELF & DJ SNS Sunday Brunch and Day Party
Uptown, 12 p.m., $44
Power 105FM’s DJ SELF will spin beats today at Fitzgerald’s, 210 E. Fifth St., for this day party and brunch. Tickets only buy entry to the event. 

Dayhem
Uptown, 2 p.m., $33
DJ Loui Vee brings the music to this day party at Imperial, 300 N. College St. The party goes until 8 p.m. 

Star Gaze: AllStar 2019 Night Finale Watch Party featuring DJ Drama
Uptown, 7 p.m., $43
If you didn’t score tickets to the All-Star Game, Loft & Cellar, 305 W. Fourth St., has you covered. The party features three DJs across two floors, but your ticket only buys you entrance. 

Fabolous, Mr. Rugs, Bernice Burgos
Music Factory, 9 p.m., $87
The three artists appear at ClubONE, 950 North Carolina Music Factory Blvd., tonight. In addition, DJ Puff and DJ ButtaFingaz will also appear. Your ticket only buys you entry.

Day Dreams: AllStar 2019 Day Party
Uptown, 1 p.m., $48
If the thought of only a nighttime party at Loft & Cellar depresses you, you’re in luck. The restaurant is also throwing a day party today until 6 p.m., featuring two DJs. Your ticket to the day party only includes entry and does not grant you entrance to the party that starts at this very location an hour later.

Henny and Waffles
South End, 1 p.m., Prices vary
Oak Room hosts this brunch buffet and day party today from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. First, until 4 p.m., the club offers a brunch buffet for $44. After brunch is cleared out, it’s time for the day party. There’s free admission with RSVP before 5 p.m. or $33 after 5 p.m.
