Condo developers get creative to sell units

Charlotteans scouting out their future pads can now spend the night—in some cases the entire weekend -- in a house they're considering buying. In mid-May, My Townhome broker Capucine Krause offered what she calls seriously motivated buyers (i.e., buyers prequalified for a loan) the opportunity to stay the weekend in the furnished model at the Vyne condominium complex in Plaza Midwood. The idea has moved uptown, too, where developers, such as those of TradeMark and the Metropolitan, have followed suit. And though the trend has only resulted in one potential buyer at TradeMark, Krause is confident it'll boost sales. "There are a lot of options for buyers right now, so we want people to feel completely comfortable with their decision."
