New store set to open in South End

After shopping at American Apparel on Camden Road in South End, I noticed a large banner announcing the opening of a new store in the same building as Barbara’s Canine Cafe and Modern Lighting Design Showroom. Zoe’s Elf Arts & Gifts, featuring “art, jewelry, home decor, and gifts,” is slated to open this month. The Web site–www.zoeself.com–is under construction so we’re not sure exactly what they’ll be selling. But a recent Google search turned up this: “Zoe’s Elf is a handmade gift and art gallery scheduled to open late June 2007. We are located in Charlotte, NC in the historic Southend. We are searching for artists who produce affordable art, jewelry, gift and home decor items.” We’ll be keeping our eyes open.
