Shake Shack Coming to South End

Just a few weeks after Pike’s Soda Shop closed its doors in South End after 25 years in business, the Charlotte Observer has confirmed that Shake Shack will open in its place. This will be the burger chain’s third location in Charlotte. The first opened last April in Park Road Shopping Center, and the second opened in the Blakeney Shopping Center in November.

Shake Shack is targeting a mid 2020 opening. Expect the Shack’s classic burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches, as well as crinkle-cut fries, shakes, and frozen custard. Shake Shack will join a growing list of restaurant tenants to open in Charlotte’s booming Design District. Hawkers, Superica, Barcelona Wine Bar, and Jeni’s Ice Creams have recently come to the area as well.

Shake Shack will be located at 1930 Camden Road. Stay tuned for news of more tenants and openings in the Design Center in the coming months.
