This month, look for the largest mass tie-dye in the city's history

IT COULD BE the largest mass tie-dye in the city’s history: on November 17, Charlotte Motor Speedway will host the city’s first Color Run, a 5K that turns runners’ crisp white gear into paint canvases. Participants pay up to $45 to be splattered with colored cornstarch as they hurtle toward the finish line. This splashy twist on the racing craze has attracted crowds from Denver to Philadelphia; Charlotte’s event sold out with 12,000 runners.
The Color Run benefits different charities wherever it’s held, and a portion of Charlotte’s proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Starting times are between 9 and 10:30 a.m., and there’s no fee for spectators. So grab a camera and come watch your friends get color bombed.
