Open House: An Introduction to Trinity Episcopal School
EVERY MONDAY, students fill the courtyard at Trinity Episcopal School’s campus nestled at the edge of E. 9th Street in Uptown Charlotte’s First Ward. Announcements are made by kindergarten through 8th grade students, their joyful voices sing uplifting melodies while parents watch and participate from the top of the courtyard stairs, as the school’s Honor Code is spoken in unison to kick off the week.
“Greet the Week” is one of many ways Trinity energizes its passionate group of students, faculty, and staff. It is also one of the reoccurring “you need to be there moments," which are a testament to Trinity’s tradition of unity.
Offering a glimpse of campus life at Trinity Episcopal School, its open house event showcases a community that focuses on academic rigor, service learning, spirituality, difference, and inclusion. The admission team and senior leadership share the value of K through 8 education at a school that understands the impact of a diverse community—ethnically, racially, socioeconomically and religiously.
At the open house, families will discover how their children can actively learn through the lives of others in Trinity’s service learning partnerships such as Hope Haven, Friendship Trays, Loaves and Fishes, La Escuelita, Crisis Assistance, Urban Ministries, and more. Parent volunteer opportunities are available and encouraged by way of participating in service-learning activities or driving students to sites.
In addition, visitors will grasp that the view of Uptown’s skyline from campus is beyond an attractive visual. The school’s location provides access to extended-campus resources that are within walking distance, such as Imaginon, Alexander Street Park, and Discovery Place.
“The open house and tour provided an opportunity for me and my husband to see Trinity teachers and students in action," says Katie Keels, a kindergarten parent at Trinity Episcopal School. "The kids were so engaged, the classrooms were so joyful, and the leadership team was so passionate. I knew instantly this was a place where my child would thrive and be loved."
The open house event takes place on October 13, 2016, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 750 E. 9th Street, Charlotte, N.C., 28202.
