VOLUNTEERING IS a great way for children to learn the importance of helping others in and around their community. Here are some of the best organizations for the whole family to get involved in giving back.

Hands on Charlotte
This online database lists hundreds of local volunteer opportunities. Filter the results based on your family’s interests to find the right event for you. 

Loaves & Fishes
Help this organization sort and pack food donations to be distributed to those in need. Children ages 6 to 14 can volunteer with an adult present, and children 15 and older can participate on their own.
