Andrew Blair's Announces New Chef
After the news broke last week that Marc Jacksina would be moving from his head chef position at Andrew Blair’s to the Mint Museum’s Halcyon: Flavors of the Earth restaurant, the big question became "Who would replace Jacksina?" (This was an especially big question here at Charlotte magazine as we have an article in our upcoming December issue all about Andrew Blair’s—and how much we’ve enjoyed it under Jacksina.)
Well, the question has been answered. The new chef is Steven Roth, a graduate of Johnson and Wales in Charleston, who comes from Villa Antonio. "About three months ago, Steve, Marc Jacksina, and I sat down together over drinks and discussed a few things we wanted to do with the winter menu at Andrew Blair’s," says Andy Henson, the owner of Andrew Blair’s. "Steve had great ideas and philosophies then, and with his arrival, the menu will not skip a beat."
Roth, who starts next Tuesday, has big shoes to fill. The previous two chefs have been Jacksina (formerly of Lulu) and Blake Hartwick (formerly of Las Ramblas).
