Birdsong and Duckworth's collaborate to introduce "Duckworthy Series"

Duckworth’s Grill and Taphouse has long been a staple in the Charlotte craft beer scene, and now they have their own exclusive beer, courtesy of Birdsong Brewing Company.
Coinciding with the grand opening of the fourth Charlotte-area Duckworth’s, Birdsong is introducing its Session IPA as the first of the inaugural “Duckworthy Series.”
The folks at Birdsong told me the collaboration came from the fact that Duckworth’s was one of the first supporters of the local brewery when it first opened in late 2011, instantly carrying their Jalapeno Pale Ale, Higher Ground IPA, Lazy Bird Brown Ale and others.
Located off exit 25 in Huntersville (the proper address is 16609 Statesville Rd., it’s located where the old O’Charley’s was), the newest Duckworth’s had its soft opening over the weekend (there’s another one today) and yes; Session IPA (which has a 5.5 percent ABV) was already on tap. The official opening of the Huntersville Duckworth’s is Tuesday, June 17. This will be Duckworth’s most expansive beer list yet of its four locations, with 112 beers on tap.
If Huntersville is too much of a trek for you, fear not: Session IPA will be available at the other three Duckworth’s (Park Road, Ballantyne and Mooresville), and you can also find it at Birdsong’s taproom.
Session IPA is the first of several beers Birdsong will brew to be sold specifically at the Duckworth’s locations and I’m excited to see what’s in store with the future offerings.
Finally, if you missed the news over the weekend, Birdsong also had its first official bottle release, “Squirrels on Geese,” which I blogged about a few weeks ago. Bottles are $9 and available at the taproom. There will also be a limited amount of bottles going out to Charlotte’s bottle shops.
