Birdsong is releasing three different cans Saturday in the taproom as part of its seventh anniversary party

Birdsong Brewing is going all out to celebrate seven years of making great Charlotte craft beer. Along with a host of festivities throughout the day, the brewery will release three different cans as part of its seventh anniversary party. It all begins Saturday at noon, and the first 100 people to come in will receive a free limited edition glass made for the event.

Leading off the new cans is Vital Signs. Birdsong has released several new IPAs throughout 2018, and this one features Azacca, Comet and Mosaic hops. For sour fans, the brewery has Good Feeling, a kettle sour ale brewed with cranberries and oranges. Finally, with winter beer season upon us, Birdsong is introducing Rich Girl, an imperial oatmeal porter that was brewed with raisins and then aged in rum barrels.

All three beers will be on tap and available for purchase in 4-pack cans to-go, with a limited amount seeing local distribution to certain bottle shops and stores next week. Birdsong will, of course, have its core beers and current seasonals on tap as well.

Once again, the brewery will also turn its private events space into a barrel-aged bar, where you’ll be able to enjoy past popular beers including St. Tuber Abbey Ale, Prehistoric Dog, Turtles on Pterodactyls and Puppies on Penguins, among others. Some of the beers in the barrel-aged room will also have their respective years featured so you can try different versions.

There will be live music during the entire event, beginning with Delirium Trio (noon to 2 p.m.) and later featuring Wes and the Railroaders (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and Liam & the Nerdy Blues (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.). That Guy Smitty closes out the evening and is also DJing in between sets.

Numerous food trucks are scheduled to be on site, including Dan Good Cue and Lady Go-Go’s in the afternoon and Hiya and My Sausage Buddy in the evening.

As part of the anniversary party, Birdsong is urging everyone to be responsible in transportation and has partnered with Lyft to offer $5 off rides to and from the brewery all day and evening. To do so, use the code Birdsong7.
