Celebrate 3 years with Triple C this Saturday

Triple C Brewing Co will mark its third year of providing terrific beer to Charlotte this Saturday with an all-day party.
But if you’ve been to the South End brewery in recent weeks, you know that the party has already started.
Since the first week of August, Triple C has decided to make its celebration almost a monthlong event, releasing specialty kegs each week. The first week was 2014 bourbon barrel-aged Up All Night and 2014 The Dude Imbibes (which is aged in rum barrels), last week was The Force Belgian Tripel on a nitro tap and Cajun Stout and this week was kegs again of BBA Up All Night and The Dude Imbibes, along with Chocolate Covered Pretzel Stout.
It all leads up to Saturday’s 3rd Anniversary Party, which begins at noon with hot yoga and ends at 10 p.m., highlighted that evening by two sets from famed bluegrass artist Larry Keel.
“The thought was, we saw how big it was getting (on Triple C’s Facebook page, Saturday’s party currently has 1,300 people saying they’ll attend) so rather than wait the week of, we thought we’d do it the month of so we can serve these beers in a more controlled environment and proper glassware so everyone can enjoy it,” Triple C co-owner Chris Harker said.
Of course, all of Triple C’s usual offerings will be on tap, and if there are any specialty beers still on, attendees will have the opportunity to grab one (evident by the Facebook numbers, I’d get there early though).
And yes, you read the earlier statement correct: If you want a lunchtime beer, the taproom will be open Saturday at noon. And if you want to feel better about yourself drinking craft beer all day, you’ll have the opportunity to start out with hot yoga presented by Arrichion. The session will be held in the brewery’s warehouse and is free (there will also be a raffle at the end with the winner receiving a pass for 10 free classes at Arrichion).
At 3 p.m., the party will expand to the parking lot outside, where the brewery will have a huge tent, chairs (though only around 400, feel free to bring one of your own) and a stage for the live music featuring The Josh Daniel-Mark Schimick Project from 3-6 p.m. and then The Larry Keel Experience at 6 p.m.
One of Charlotte’s top pitmasters, Zach Goodyear, will have barbecue for sale and King of Pops will also be onsite with treats to beat the heat, including one using Triple C’s Hyzer Hefeweizen as inspiration. Beer tickets will be for sale at the brewery to make things quicker and easier, and you can also purchase advance tickets all this week at Triple C.
It’s been a big year for Triple C, which expanded its operation to bring in a new canning line, introducing cans of 3C IPA and Golden Boy Blonde Ale to the Charlotte market and continuing its outstanding aforementioned barrel-aged series – the next of which, Eyes of the World, a smoked porter aged in bourbon barrels, should be released sometime in October.
That’s plenty of reason to celebrate, says Harker.
“This is really just a big thank you to the local community and craft beer drinkers,” he says. “They’re the ones who got us here. I can’t believe it’s been three years but couldn’t be happier and we’re still having so much fun. And we want to make sure everyone knows we still know how to throw a party, so we’re looking forward to seeing everyone out here Saturday.”
