Charlotte Restaurants Celebrating Dad on Father’s Day
A curated list of spots doing something special for the holiday
FATHER'S DAY is Sunday, and instead of a tie or another "Top Dad" coffee mug, consider one of these Charlotte spots doing a little something extra for dads.
The popular Plaza Midwood barbecue joint will offer a beef rib plus, and this a direct quote, “their Dad Jokes beer, a full dad-bodied light lager in collaboration with The Unknown Brewing Co. with grains milled with a lawn mower, smoked on Traeger Grills and served with a fresh white Nike sneaker tap.”
Red Rocks Café – Birkdale Village
For five and a half hours on Sunday (10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.), this restaurant offers its annual prime rib buffet brunch complete with a carving station, fried chicken, meatballs and other “manly” foods. The regular menu becomes available starting at 3:45.
If Dad wants meat and only meat, take him to Chima, a Brazilian steakhouse in Uptown. He’ll go home with a free dinner card to use on his next meaty visit.
This popular South End brewery is roasting a pig today and hosting live music from TheHwy Music. Get a pitcher and stay awhile.
WP Kitchen + Bar
Wolfgang Puck’s South Park outpost is serving a beer, bourbon and bacon menu for Father’s Day with pork belly, roasted strip steak and ginger bread pudding laced with bourbon.
If Dad doesn’t want to choose between land or sea, take him to Upstream, which is offering a special Father’s Day brunch. Buffet items today include ribs, brisket, salmon, enchiladas, a raw bar, sushi, and an omelet station.
Treat Dad to tapas at this newer spot. While he’s there, he’ll have a chance to win an order of churros, and he’ll walk away with a $20 gift card for next time.
