'Chicago Fire' Advanced Screening and BET Hip Hop Awards Style Lounge

There are two special events—each connected to television programs—that have been making the rounds in email blasts the last couple of days. If you're interested in attending, act fast and RSVP.

Chicago Fire Advanced Screening
This new NBC series premieres Wednesday, October 10, which means you get to check it out nearly a week early. Its description from the network: “From renowned, Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and creators Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, Chicago Fire is an edge-of-your-seat view into the lives of everyday heroes committed to one of America's noblest professions—firefighters.” Prior to the start of the screening, hometown heroes—people who work every day to keep our communities safe—will be honored.  Doors open 6:30 p.m.; screening begins at 7:30 p.m. Mez/EpiCentre Theaters, at EpiCentre, 210 E. BET Hip Hop Awards Style Lounge
In recognition of the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, Urban fashion retailer DTLR hosts this event at several of its locations, including one of its Charlotte stores.
