The Soil3 Garden Show @ Spinning Leaf Vineyard

The 2nd Annual Soil3 Gardening Show will take place this year in Shelby, North Carolina, on Saturday, March 14!

Come hear three inspired gardeners give presentations about vegetable gardening. To complete this day, there will be garden vendors, food trucks, and a garden design contest featuring raised beds created for you to gather ideas for your own veggie patches.

2020 Speakers

Our speakers have amazing-yet-practical home gardens. All are from right here in North Carolina. On March 14, they’ll present what they’ve learned about growing food at home. There will be a chance to ask questions, and Brie and Chris will be doing book signings.

  • Brie Arthur will present her “Foodscaping Techniques for Beauty and Bounty.”
  • Allison Pittman will show us how to “Plant It and They Will Come: Ecology in the Vegetable Garden. Attracting Pollinators to the Veggie Garden Using Native Plants.”
  • Chris Smith will explain “How to Start Raised Bed Gardening.”

Creative minds from North Carolina will gather to construct raised garden beds. These mini-gardens will be created for you to stroll and gather inspiration for your own home vegetable gardens.

The gardens will be built by local garden groups and a high school garden club. You’ll have a chance to have your vote counted in the “Popular Vote” award. So, come explore ideas for your own beds and vote for your favorite!

Hand-picked vendors from around the Southeast will offer vegetable gardening supplies, books, and more!

Spinning Leaf Vineyard is located at 1414 Metcalf Road, Shelby, NC 28150. We chose this venue because we have a weakness for fields, farms, vineyards, and beautiful buildings. The Soil3 Garden Show will be held in the former grape crushing room, turned event venue. The presentations and vendors will be indoors, while the raised beds demonstrations will be outdoors.
