Fashion Savvy
Home décor takes its cues from the runway, and this summer's fabrics and patterns are no different. Home décor this summer is a nod to spring '08's painterly prints and intricate designs coupled with the upcoming fall season's elegant hues (according to Pantone, warm autumn hues, chocolate browns, and steel grays are hot). So we weighed in on what we're dying to use on our walls, pillows, and gift wrap that touch on this season's fashion trends.

What I want: Japanese Paper Place’s Chiyogami paper, $18 per sheet, at Origami Ink
Why I want it: "I love the level of detail in the paper. It’s silkscreened by hand so it not only feels like art, but it can function like it, too. I plan on framing various sheets in similar hues and hanging them like artwork."
Carrie Campbell, art director
What I want: Grass cloth wallpaper, $159.98 per roll, at The Wallpaper Company
Why I want it: "I’m going for a nature-inspired retreat feel in my master bedroom by adding lots of chocolate brown, moss green, and cream hues. I want to hang this underneath the chair rail to warm up the space and to add texture."
Lisa Summerell, associate art director
What I want: Brocade fabric, $8.98 per yard, at Mary Jo’s Cloth Store
Why I want it: "I like to incorporate brocades into my home decorating sewing projects. This luxurious fabric adds a dash of drama to any blanket or pillow."
