Featured Practice: April Atkins Boswell, MD Atlantic Dermatology – Charlotte

6701 Carmel Road, Ste. 116
Charlotte, NC 28226
At Atlantic Dermatology – Charlotte, Dr. April Atkins Boswell meets a variety of needs, including the treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, warts, hair loss, and skin cancer—for which she also offers screenings. Treating patients over the age of 11, she describes her practice on Carmel Road as “a traditional dermatology clinic with a personable staff and positive energy that strives to provide excellent management of skin, hair, and nail diseases in the area.”
That “traditionalist” approach means taking an appropriate history, reviewing medications, looking at pertinent blood work, and even contacting the patient’s primary care provider, if necessary, to evaluate her patients and develop a treatment plan. “In Dermatology, we primarily treat chronic diseases,” Dr. Boswell says, “so I strive to educate my patients on their skin condition and treatment options. In my opinion, a more informed patient is a more compliant patient, which often yields more positive outcomes.”
Dr. Boswell also offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments for the scalp as a therapeutic option for the management of different forms of hairloss. Microneedling, in conjunction with PRP for the latest in facial rejuvenation, is also available to her patients. Her wide spectrum of skills stems from extensive training in medical dermatology in the Dermatology Residency Program at Case Western Reserve University. She also completed a fellowship and board certification in dermatopathology, which gave her an additional knowledge base when reviewing pathology reports for patients.
All of these skills and services are part of Atlantic Dermatology – Charlotte’s primary goal: providing comprehensive medical dermatology for patients—while providing a personable and educational experience.
