Grateful Growers On-Farm Dinner

Chances are, if you’ve lived in Charlotte for very long and are a pork eater, you’ve enjoyed some Grateful Growers’ local farm-grown pork. It’s served in area restaurants, can be found at various farmer’s markets, and is the star of the show at the bright orange Harvest Moon Grille cart that you can find on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the corner of Trade and Tryon and on Wednesdays in Gateway Center.

Whether you want to know more about the meat, are ready to try it for the first time, or are just looking for an excuse to dance to bluegrass music on a farm, the 4th (fairly) annual on-farm dinner, is your chance. The dinner, which is on October 16 from 4 to 9 p.m., features a tour of the farm, appetizers, locally-made moonshine tastings, a meal prepared by guest chefs, local craft-brewed beer, live bluegrass with contra dancing, and a silent auction to raise money for Friendship Trays. The dinner costs $75 per person ($100 includes transportation to and from the Dunhill Hotel uptown) and the first 100 ticket buyers get a $5 off coupon for the Harvest Moon Grille.
