Gray Classic Offers Weekend of Social Events

Charlotte power couple Herb and Felicia Gray have created an exciting social weekend.

The Gray Classic takes place this weekend, July 15-17, and not only is it highlighted by the annual golf tournament, it also features a weekend full of social events. The Gray Classic was founded by Charlotte businessman Herb Gray, and for the second straight year he’s partnered with the 100 Black Men of Charlotte to present it. Tournament proceeds will benefit the 100 Black Men’s youth mentoring program.

According to its website, the Gray Classic Golf Tournament, which takes place tomorrow at The Golf Club at Ballantyne, has sold out. So has the Women’s Empowerment Brunch that’s being held tomorrow at Ballantyne Hotel (many of the wives and girlfriends of the men who are playing in the golf tournament are attending the brunch). But don’t feel as if you have to miss out on this social scene, as there are three other accompanying events scheduled that you can get in on.

Friday, July 15
Gray Classic Welcome Reception

This after-work event is hosted by Charlotte City Councilman, Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Cannon, and should draw several professionals, businessmen, public officials, and socialites. Enjoy some of the city’s best cocktails and a great view of the uptown skyline. 6-9 p.m. Loft 1523, 1523 Elizabeth Ave.
