Hamilton's Charlotte Dates Released

MORE THAN A YEAR after we found out that Hamilton is coming to Charlotte, the dates for the show’s run at Belk Theater have been revealed. In 2018, Hamilton's national tour arrives Oct. 10 through Nov. 4 for a total of 32 shows, as first reported by the Observer. It concludes a strong 2017-2018 Broadway Lights season for Blumenthal Performing Arts, which also includes School of Rock, Waitress, The Color Purple, and others. (Broadway Extras include Les Miserables, The Lion King, and a returning Charlotte favorite, Book of Mormon.)
For those not wanting to purchase season subscriptions to guarantee their spot, individual tickets will be available. Just like the Broadway run, it’s been confirmed that there will be a daily lottery. (40 tickets at $10 each, the Observer reports.)
A few months before it comes here, the show has a run at the Fox Theater in Atlanta (May 22-June 10). The closest it'll come after Charlotte will be a stint in Greenville, S.C., for the 2018-2019 season at the Peace Center.
Hamilton was conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, after the actor-composer-scribe read a a 2005 biography of Hamilton written by Ron Chernow. Its Off-Broadway run garnered the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical and seven others from the revered Drama Desk organization. It debuted on Broadway two years ago, and it nabbed 11 Tony Awards.
