Charlotte's Bill Werber is the oldest living former New York Yankee and Boston Red Sox (Sock?). He played with Babe Ruth, advised J.W. Marriott to stay out of the hotel business, and drank Scotch with President Eisenhower. He turns 100 today, and to celebrate, we've reposted one of my favorite Charlotte mag stories of all time.
