Heist Brewery introduces "Not So Small Batch" releases

A couple of months ago, Heist Brewery celebrated its one-year anniversary, and the NoDa-based brewery is now set to expand its beer offerings.
Beginning this Monday (Sept. 30), Heist will begin its “Not So Small Batch” beer releases on a weekly basis. The first two will be a Belgian Pale Ale and Gun-Smoked Robust Porter. You can try these batches along with the other mainstays from brewer Zach Hart.
These pilot batches are a great way to for breweries to experiment with different ingredients and also try new styles. It’s something that’s been embraced by the local breweries, as Heist now joins Birdsong, NoDa and Triple C in doing weekly releases.
NoDa has its “NoDable Series” every Tuesday, and are about to tap the brewery’s 100th this coming Tues. (Oct. 1) with a special beer, “Thanks for the Mammaries,” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of every beer sold will be donated to the Carolinas Breast Cancer Fund.
Triple C rolls out its pilot batch every Wednesday, and Birdsong’s follows a day later on every Thursday. If you can get out there today, Birdsong’s beer this week is “Black Dog,” a vanilla coffee porter that sounds spectacular.
Heist, which also recently revamped its Web site, will be announcing each new Monday release on its Facebook page, which you can find here.
