It’s December 1st. This means you’ve made it through the first onslaught of turkey and dressing, but there is still plenty of festive holiday dining to be done over the next several weeks. Restaurants around Charlotte are hosting holiday dinners, parties, and specials—plus, many are giving to those in need during the holiday season. We’ll be doing our best to keep you updated on all the top ones right here.
First off, you’re going to want to check out Maddi’s Southern Bistro(pictured) in Birkdale in Huntersville. Every Sunday this month it’s serving a "Candy Cane Brunch" from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The brunch will feature seasonal food and drink specials. Or for something fun to do this week, go to Maddi’s tomorrow night for the Beer Dinner. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and features four courses with beer pairings ($39 per person). Reservations are required and you can make them online at maddissouthernbistro.com.
On December 7th Mez is hosting a fundraiser for the Community Culinary School of Charlotte. You get food, wine, beer, and entertainment, all for just $25. There will be a silent auction and raffle and proceeds will go to the school, which provides job search help and training for adults interested in entering the food industry. Check out communityculinary.org for more information.
Jim Noble Restaurants (Rooster’s and Noble’s) have partnered with Restoration Word Ministries for the last several years to help feed Charlotte’s hungry around the holidays. Their organization, King’s Kitchen, provides funds for established feeding centers in Charlotte to provide for those in need. Want to help? Go to kingskitchen.org.
Enjoy an elegant appetizer at The Palm in Phillips Place and help out at the same time. Through the end of the year, if you purchase at glass of Veuve Clicquot and six oysters ($25), a portion of the proceeds will go to Dress for Success, a program that provides women with professional attire to help them find and keep jobs. For reservations at The Palm, call 704.552.7256.
