It's My Party

Out-of-the-box bridal shower themes

Around-the-clock, tea party… we've seen the shower theme clichés too many times to count. So for our lovely MOHs, mothers, or designated friends with a bridal fête to plan, why not opt for something fresh and unexpected. The shower concept of the moment lends itself rather to the bride's personal interests, and feels perfectly in keeping with her personality. Take a moment to consider the qualities that distinguish her and choose a theme that embodies them. And if you're still seeking a bit of inspiration or a springboard for ideas, take a look at a few creative options we have below!

Craft Queen

When it comes to wedding decor, DIY is here to stay. So if you know the bride is hoping to incorporate a few crafty pieces into her wedding or she has an artistic side, a DIY shower is a great thematic route. Gather the girls and craft place card holders or fashion a necklace for the bridesmaids to wear on the big day.

Spa Day

Rather than bring the professionals in-house or spend the day at a salon, create a spa environment yourself. Pre-mix facial masks and rose water mini soaking tubs for tired feet and set up stations in your designated area. Bonus touch: have white terrycloth robes monogrammed for each guest as a favor.

Cooking class

If the bride is seeking a bit of culinary confidence before 'I do,' a cooking lesson shower is a fabulous party option. Bring a chef to the house or take the group out for the evening for a class complete with wine pairings. (Yes, evening showers are trending right now and perfectly acceptable). Another thing to consider: for the master chef bride, a class that entails a more complex dish–or an exquisite dessert, will be more than appreciated.

Book Worm

For the lover of literature, a book-themed bridal shower feels just right. Compile a collection of her favorite novels and use them for table decor. Stack them haphazardly down the table in varying heights and add in sporadic candles and flowers. Then have each guest gift a personal favorite book for the bride to read.
