Living in the Moment

DETROIT -- We are rolling on a high. The Davidson College Board of Trustees paid for another five buses of students to be here. That makes twelve buses total, carrying almost half of Davidson's student body to the Motor City for the biggest game in Davidson basketball history.

Well, that is not completely true. We've been here before. As most of you know Davidson went to the Elite Eight two years straight in 1968 and 1969. Both those years Davidson lost to North Carolina and Charlie Scott (a Davidson recruit who changed his mind at the last moment and decided to go to Chapel Hill instead). Don't know if you would call it bitterness, but we still talk about it.

Redemption comes in many forms. This time it comes in the form of a silky smooth two guard by the name of Stephen Curry with a supporting cast that believes in themselves.  And we believe right along with them.

And things are a little different now from 1969. We are playing a Jayhawk, not a Tar Heel. And we have the momentum of the nation on our side, right?

At least that is what if feels like.

Last weekend we dreamed. The dream lives on. And whether we win or lose today, it has been a dream come true.

Today is most definitely a great day to be a Wildcat. We hope you join in.
