South Tryon still rising
A few issues ago, we published a story titled "South Tryon Rising." In it, we surveyed all of the new construction on the southern end of downtown, from the EpiCentre to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and all the museums and towers in between. We posited that when complete, the scope of change to Charlotte's urban center would be dramatic. A few evenings ago, I happened to be on South Tryon one foggy evening. Most of the buildings are still months from opening (and the baseball stadium may never make it), but despite the economy and such, progress is still being made. Here are some pictures:
