Specialty Dinners in June

Mint Museum, Dean & Deluca Wine Room, and Paco's Tacos & Tequila host specialty dinners this month

June is turning into a great month for specialty dinners—here's the scoop on three events you might want to put on your calendar if you're a foodie.

Wed., June 5: International Chefs Dinner, Dean & DeLuca's Wine Room, 6:30 p.m.

Featuring chefs from Dean & DeLuca stores in Japan, Middle East, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, and the U.S., this four-course meal includes wine and beer pairings with each course. Expect dishes such as fennel-dusted veal sweetbreads, lobster tataki, braised lamb shank, and buttermilk panna cotta. $250 per person, call the store for reservations: 704-643-1664.

Mon., June 10: Farm to F.O.O.D., 6 p.m.

This event at the Mint Museum Uptown will feature cocktails and a guided tour of the museum's F.O.O.D exhibition, followed by dinner on the patio at Halcyon. The menu will feature dishes from four local chefs: Marc Jacksina of Halsyon, Drew Trepanier of Fern, Bruce Mofffett of Barrington's, and Kerry Moffett of Good Food on Montford. Dishes will include catfish and shrimp salad, vegan cioppino, fried chicken, balsamic-glazed barbecue pork belly, and deconstructed peach cobbler. Cocktails from Halcyon's Maggie Ruppert just might steal the show, though—she'll be making a Watermelon Yuzu Pisco Sour and a Pickled Ramp Gibson. Click here for tickets ($120 per person or $105 per person for Mint members) and the full menu.

Wed., June 26: Herradura Tequila Dinner, Paco's Tacos, 6:30 p.m.

An evening of dishes paired with Herradura cocktails and neat selections. $25 each; call 704-716-8226 for reservations.
