Tea On Tap
Beer isn’t the only thing brewing in Charlotte—say hello to kombucha

There’s more than just craft beer brewing in Charlotte these days. Lenny Boy Kombucha specializes in the sweet/tart, fermented beverage made with sugar, black tea, water, and bacterial yeast culture that has nourished Asia and Russia with probiotics for centuries. Owner and Charlotte native Townes Mozer riffs on this healthful tradition with innovative flavors, such as Sweet Potato Pie, which are made with organic produce. Mozer serves his kombucha on Sundays from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Lenny Boy Tap Room (2224 Hawkins St.), a cozy space attached to an in-house industrial brewery. The fizzy drink is also available at shops, yoga studios, and restaurants throughout the city; visit discoverlennyboy.com for locations.
