The Beer Growler hosts Wicked Weed tap takeover, Salud pairs beer with Girl Scout cookies and the latest Good Morning breakfast at Good Bottle Co.

Salud Beer Shop will be pairing craft beer with Girl Scout cookies this Thursday at 7 p.m.

Snow’s in the forecast this week, but inside it’s plenty warm with lots of local craft beer. Here are the latest events happening in Charlotte:

–This Thursday at 7 p.m., Salud Beer Shop will once again do a beer pairing with Girl Scout cookies. The first time Salud did this it was a hit, after all, who doesn’t love a good Thin Mint and great craft beer. The lineup is as follows:

  • Samoa (caramel topped, sprinkled with coconut and one of my favorites) paired with Founders Dirty Bastard (a Scotch Ale)
  • Savannah Smiles (a lemon-flavored cookie) paired with Bell’s Oarsman (a Berliner Weiss)
  • Trefoil (a shortbread cookie) paired with Terrapin Mosaic (a red IPA)
  • Thin Mint (the Girl Scout GOAT) paired with Great Divide YETI imperial stout, randalled with Thin Mint cookies

–On Friday starting at 6:30 p.m., The Beer Growler is hosting Wicked Weed for a giant tap takeover and cheese pairing. Included on tap are Freak of Nature Double IPA, Gluten Freek Double IPA, Amorous Sour IPA, Take Take Saison, Illusive & Dark, Tyrant, XLI Cherry Saison, Poperinge Saison with Apricot and the illustrious Bourbon Barrel-Aged French Toast Stout. Flights will be customized with the cheese pairings.

You’ll also be able to purchase Wicked Weed bottles at The Beer Growler, including Oblivion Sour Red, Genesis, Amorous, Lusus Naturae and Bretticent. Spice Wagon Kabob Food Truck will also be on site during the festivities, and also look for special giveaways.

–Wake up with good food and beer as Good Bottle Co. will host its latest Good Morning breakfast this Saturday at 9 a.m. Roots Farm Food will be on hand serving up pancakes, and as always, free coffee will be provided by Magnolia Coffee Co.  And while they last, you can get a free popsicle from King of Pops. Featured beers on tap include NoDa’s Hop Cakes and Triple C’s The Dude Imbibes, as well as others yet to be announced.
