This Weekend's Beer Events, Aug. 19-21

Friday Night Festival

Friday, August 19, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The recurring festival is a collaboration between Unknown Brewing, Craft Growler Shop, The Gold District, and Historic South End. The event includes local beer, music, food trucks, and films shown outside the neighboring breweries. This week's film is Hitchcock's North by Northwest.

Music at Legion Brewing

Friday & Saturday, August 19-20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Two acts offer tunes at Legion this weekend: The jazz trio Clowns Eating Fish performs Friday, while The Hazelgroves play Saturday. The latter act's sound is a mix of blues, folk, rock, and jazz. Both are based in Charlotte.

Triple C’s 4th Anniversary Party

Saturday, August 20, noon to 9 p.m.

One of the first breweries in town and still one of the best, Triple C, led by owner Chris Harker and head brewer Scott Kimball, turns four in style. Live music from Mojo Ruckus and Yarn! Food from Papi Queso Food Truck, Bleu Barn Bistro, New Wrap Order—and, of course, popsicles from King of Pops. Kimball and his team have been working up an Anniversary New England IPA, called Not Just N.E. IPA, for the celebration. No cover charge.

Sycamore August Breakfast at Sycamore Brewing

Saturday, August 20, 9 a.m.-noon

Lamb hash and eggs, made with beer-braised lamb breast; a bagel all the way, and a “Greek Meets West” Omelet, with eggs, cheese, bacon, peppers and scallions—it all pairs well with a beer or a beer-mosa on a Saturday morning.
