Medical Specialty: Pediatric Cardiology Presbyterian Pediatric Cardiology
When did you know you wanted to work in pediatrics? During medical school. Most of the time I worked with adults and then when I had a chance to work with kids it was enjoyable.
What's the best part about working with kids? Honesty of the kids and their willingness to make themselves feel better. There's not a day goes by that one of them doesn't make me laugh.
What's the most rewarding aspect of your job? When I have a family that I have worked with, particularly bad heart defects, that comes back and lets me know that I helped them get through that. It makes me feel like I'm doing what I need to do.
Are you a parent yourself? Yes. I have a delightful ten-month-old girl.
Did you have a favorite book as a child? You've got to love the Dr. Seuss books. Oh, the Places You'll Go! has had the most meaning.
