Chef Bill Smith of Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill will team up with Chef Matthew Krenz of The Asbury this Monday.

TASTE OF CHARLOTTE

Enjoy over 100 samples from area restaurants along with live music, activities for the kids, cooking demos, and more. Admission is free; purchase festival coins for restaurant samples, beverages, and kid’s activities. This three-day festival covers six city blocks in Uptown, from Stonewall Street to 5th Street.

EARL'S GROCERY MIXOLOGY LAB

Join Bob Peters of the Punch Room and Lindsey Pittman of The Daily Press for a lesson on making coffee-based cocktails. The pair will feature coffee from their favorite local roaster, Pure Intentions Coffee. Those who can't attend in person can also view the class online, since they will be streaming live.

WICKED WEED PATIO TAKEOVER AT ROCK SALT

​The warm weather forecasted for Saturday is reason enough to join Rock Salt on the patio for some cold brews and fresh oysters. They will have three Wicked Weed beers on tap for the event: Lunatic Blonde, Pernicious IPA, and a special, Wicked Week pub exclusive.

SHRIMP FEAST AT REID'S

Both locations of Reid’s will be serving fresh, peel and eat shrimp from Pamlico Sound this Saturday for just $5 per half-pound. To match that special price, they'll also be offering $5 draft beers all day long, including pints from local breweries like OMB, Triple C, Sugar Creek, and NoDa Brewing. The SouthPark location will also feature $7.50 Belmont Breezes, the official cocktail of the Belmont Stakes, which will be held this Saturday evening.

CRAWFISH FOR CANCER

This charity event started eight years ago in New York City and has grown to include other cities like Atlanta and Charlotte, raising over $350,000 for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. SECRET CHOCOLATIER WINE PAIRING CLASS

Learn to pair the various flavors of chocolate with different wines during this beginner class. Guests will learn about the different forms of chocolate and how to create flavor shifts with the pairings. Exclusive wines will be provided by the Grapes Wine Bar.

BEER + SPICE DINNER WITH CHEF BILL SMITH

Join Chef Matthew Krenz of the Asbury and special guest Chef Bill Smith from Crook's Corner of Chapel Hill as they team up with Sycamore Brewing for a collaborative dinner that is all about the interaction of beer and spice.  Enjoy michelada oyster shots, barbecue cottage cheese pie, and curried soft-shell crab during this five-course dinner. The last dinner with Chef Bill sold out the house, so make your reservations now.

FLYING BISCUIT CAFE CANCER RESEARCH FUNDRAISER

During the month of June, the Flying Biscuit Café will raise funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, started by then four-year-old Alex Scott to help fund childhood cancer research. The restaurants will donate a percentage of all kid’s meal sales and also accept donations. You can also go online to make a donation.
