Upstream's 5th Annual Oyster Bash

Portion of proceeds will benefit Kids First of the Carolinas

The Queen City's specialty dinners continue with this week's event at Upstream — a seafood joint located in South Park known for its fresh-from-the-sea dinners and trendy atmosphere. On Friday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m., Upstream will feature their Fifth Annual Oyster Bash, a dining event which will highlight the best oyster offerings paired with fine wines.

Executive chef at Upstream, Tom Dyrness, plans to offer the finest assortment of oysters for Friday night's event including Old Salt, York River, Fanny Bay, Blue Point, Rappahannock, Malpeque, and many more. Each oyster selection will be paired with a wine, including such favorites as La Marca Prosecco, Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis, Sella and Mosca Vermentino, Marques de Caseras Albarino and Brageon Muscadet.

The event will also feature live music by singer and guitarist, Thom Crumpton, while guests are offered seats in either the main dining room, private dining room, or bar and lounge area.

As a way to help Kids First of the Carolinas, a charity dedicated to helping support the community's children and families in need of donated supplies and items, guests will be offered a chance to purchase tickets for a raffle of a case of wine with 100% of proceeds going toward the charity.

Reservations for this event are limited and required, so call as soon as possible to be sure you get a table. Cost is $95 per person, which is all inclusive with portions going toward Kids First. Cancellation policy is in effect and a valid credit card is needed to reserve your table. Head to South Park for a taste of the sea on Friday night!
